In 2025, SerienFestival Basel will launch its first-ever pitching session for projects in the development phase! Our goal is to inspire creative teams to develop original series with “Swiss DNA.” This could be an element within the series universe, a Swiss co-producer, a member of the creative team, or any other innovative idea. However, in 2025, we don’t want to limit your creativity — we’re happy to consider your project even without this element.

We invite producers, directors, showrunners, writers, and all other members of creative teams to present their series concepts to the festival. A shortlist of the six best projects will be invited to the final pitch in front of an industry-expert jury. The winner will receive a development grant of CHF 10,000.

Project Requirements
– Genre: Fiction
– Number of Episodes: 4 or more
– Episode Length: 26 minutes or more
– Phase: Projects in the development phase

Required Materials for Submission 
Participation is free. Please make sure you have prepared the following materials:

Mandatory Materials
– Pitch Deck (PDF, up to 12 pages): Includes genre description, logline, synopsis, character descriptions, story arc, tone, and series universe.
– Team Filmography (PDF): Links to IMDb and short bios of each participant.
– Up to 10 pages of dialogue: Excerpts from the current project or previous works by the author.

Optional Materials
– Episode Outline for the First Episode (PDF)
– Mood Teaser (up to 2 minutes, link to Vimeo/Youtube), showing the style and production value of the project
– Financial Plan (xls/pdf): Production budget, secured funds, and projected revenues
– Letters of Support from broadcasters/streamers/distributors (PDF)
